“Lately things don’t feel the same....”
-- Jimi Hendrix
On February 28, the inundation of Pisces energy continues as the goddess of beauty and love meets up with the ruler of the Piscean ocean, Neptune. There is definitely something magical about the merger of Venus with her higher octave, Neptune. If you’re a dreamer, you won’t be the only one this week.
Of course there is the dark side to Neptune as well: deception, disillusionment, contagion and a total lack of boundaries. When you’re in the presence of good eggs, no problem. But when in the presence of toxic or deceitful energy, having serious boundaries -- not to mention, thicker skin -- is not a bad thing.
Neptune rules the subtlest of energies, all things and forces unseen, invisible and ethereal. During this time, it is crucial to tune in to your imagination and dreams the way you would the daily news -- but with even more rapt attention. If you ever doubted how powerful images are, just experiment during this time and you will no longer question why creative visualization works. If you can dream it, you can become it. But the pitfall of Neptune-Pisces “wishful thinking” is believing that this is all there is to it.
There are so many subtle and unseen layers to how manifestation metaphysics actually works. Neptune is murky business, so don’t expect anything to be solid, reliable or full-proof. You can open yourself to miracles, but be sure to remain just as open to profound disillusionment (especially if you’re expecting tangible results from the ethereal or lasting results from the ephemeral).
It’s best to use this potential magic to tune in to where your own imagery and dreams are directing you in the eternal search for meaning and greater wholeness. Trust in the power of the subtle and don’t base your happiness on externals. Putting your blind faith outside of yourself will only lead to the dark side of Neptune: cynicism if not straight-up addictive escape mechanisms. Alcohol is especially tempting during this liquid influence. What we’re really looking for is the elixir or magic potion of the gods where we no longer have to experience our separation from the source.
